The new breathing apparatus was introduced into service today at the Montjuïc fire station and will later be distributed at the rest of the city’s fire stations, initially during the week of 30 July.
The equipment is reliable and hard-wearing, enabling users to work in unbreathable atmospheric conditions caused by high temperatures (indoor fires) or the toxicity of gases present (toxic leaks).
In all, the service is getting 400 shoulder packs, 530 masks and 100 communicators.
