Firefighters' Run. The Vueling Cursa de Bombers de Barcelona is on 24 October. The 10 km run has attracted registrations from 11,000 participants, who will have 90 minutes to complete the circuit.

The Vueling Cursa de Bombers de Barcelona is back on Sunday, 24 October, after being cancelled last year because of Covid-19. Over 11,000 people have signed up for this 10 km event, which is expected to last 90 minutes. Mobility restrictions will be in place all around the route during this time.

Route

This year’s event maintains the route established since 2016. The start and finish lines are in the same place: Av. Marquès de l’Argentera. This is a very special 10 km run, taking in iconic spots in the city such as Passeig de Colom, Av. Paral·lel, C/ Marina, C/ Comte d’Urgell, Via Laietana and the length of the Gran Via.

Start times

Runners are advised to be in their starting boxes at around 8.30 am so that the event can get under way on time and in the right order according to the grid.

The symbolic shot for the Vueling Cursa de Bombers de Barcelona is at 8.50 am, signalling the start for the team of firefighters and some guest runners. The 11,000 participants signed up to take part will then set off in three time slots: at 9 am, at 9.06 am and at 9.12 am.

Disruptions to traffic

Traffic will be restricted all around the route during the run. Areas at the start and finish lines will be cut to traffic during the event, while the rest of the streets around the route will gradually be re-opened to vehicles as the race progresses.
