The 24th edition of the run is on 22 October, with the registration period open until Sunday 15, or when there are no places left.
As ever, there will be a symbolic starting shot at 8.50 am for the team of firefighters, with the rest of the runners to start in groups at 9 am.
Changes to the route
Unlike previous years, the route will be circular, starting and finishing in the lower section of Pg. Picasso, not far from the junction with C/ Ribera. The route will have one bend less as it will not go through Via Laietana, owing to the improvement work being carried out there. Another notable difference this year is that the route reaches the neighbourhood of Poblenou, while other years it covered a route entirely within the districts of Ciutat Vella and L’Eixample.
Most of the iconic points and streets will be kept, such as Av. Marquès de l’Argentera, Estació de França, Pg. Colom and the Columbus monument, Av. Paral·lel, Gran Via and Pg. Sant Joan. The distance is the same too: 10 km, certified by the Catalan Athletics Federation.
How to sign up
If you would like to take part in the 24th Vueling Cursa de Bombers, you can sign up using the registration page. Besides the registration fee, you can also make a donation to Bombers Solidaris.
Those who sign up will get a bag with various products such as a t-shirt bearing this year’s slogan, inspired by the Fire Service: “We endeavour, we protect and we run”.
Decathlon Training Days are being organised ahead of the event, offering participants a chance to prepare. There will be two in September (the next is tomorrow, Wednesday) and a further two in October. Registration in advance is required for these.
