The three-day meeting was held in Zaragoza. A firefighter paramedic from the Barcelona Fire Service shared knowledge with other participants on the psychological approach to road accident victims in Barcelona.
Today is the last day of this meeting on tactical civil medical care, attended by paramedics from the Barcelona Fire Service to update knowledge in various fields, such as the response models used by the Paris Fire Service in incidents affecting multiple people.
A paramedic from the Barcelona Fire Service also explained the protocol the Barcelona corps uses for the psychological approach to road accident victims, in a round table which also involved the firefighting corps operated by Zaragoza City Council and the SAMUR-PC service from Madrid.
The explanation centred on the internal resources the corps has for the psychological care of people involved in critical incidents: the possibility of group support afterwards, the option of individual psychological help and the 24/365 psychological assistance helpline.
The meeting was organised by the Spanish Association of Firefighter Paramedics in collaboration with the Zaragoza Fire Service.
