Safety and prevention. The campaign will run all week and pay special attention to rickshaws operating along the seafront in the city.

The proliferation of personal mobility vehicles (PMV) in the city, such as electric scooters and segways, may lead to road safety conflicts with others in public city streets and squares. Because of this, there is a need to control conduct which may pose a risk and put people in danger.

To this end, the City Police launched a campaign on Monday which will run until Sunday, seeking to ensure compliance with circulation conditions for PMVs.

The intention is to help cut the number of accidents involving these vehicles, as well as the number of victims and the severity of injuries.

In this respect, the police will be verifying the correct circulation of PMVs, as well as the obligations of those driving other types of motor vehicles and pedestrians with regard to PMV riders.

Special attention will also be given to type C1 personal mobility vehicles engaging in economic activity in the city, particularly rickshaws operating along the seafront and premises renting them out.
