The event gets under way this Sunday at 8.30 am, with the start and finish line in Av. Reina Maria Cristina. Traffic will be disrupted in the street sections around the circuit and surrounding areas, with parking restrictions also in place around the route and some disruptions to traffic owning to assembly and dismantling.
Av. Reina Maria Cristina will be closed to traffic from early in the afternoon on Friday 17 until 5 pm on Sunday 19.
Once the marathon sets off on Sunday, roads will be closed to traffic as runners make their way around the circuit. Vehicles will be unable to circulate where the event occupies the whole road surface. In all other cases, vehicles and runners will share the space available, with the needs of athletes always taken into account. Roads will gradually be reopened to traffic as the competitors complete the different sections.
Disruptions by district
Districts of Les Corts and Sants-Montjuïc:
During the disruptions it will be possible to access and exit this zone at all times via:
- Ronda del Mig
- Once runners have been through, via Carrer de Tarragona (access from Plaça dels Països Catalans)
Districts of Ciutat Vella and L’Eixample
During the disruptions it will be possible to access and exit this zone at all times via:
- Plaça d’Espanya, via the tunnel or the side lane of Gran Via nearest the sea, depending on the progress of the event
- Ronda de Sant Pere (subdivided from Plaça d’Urquinaona to Plaça de Catalunya)
- Exit via Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes (in the direction of the Besòs)
- Zona C (districts of Ciutat Vella, L’Eixample and Sant Martí)
During the disruptions it will be possible to access and exit this zone at all times:
- Access via Plaça de les Drassanes
- Access and exit via Ronda del Litoral (access and exit 22, in both directions)
Districts of L’Eixample and Sant Martí
During the disruptions it will be possible to access and exit this zone at all times via:
- Plaça d’Espanya, via the tunnel or the side lane of Gran Via nearest the sea, depending on the progress of the event
- Once the last runners are in Carrer d’Aragó, it will be possible to exit via Carrer de la Diputació and Plaça d’Espanya
- The tunnel in Glòries in both directions
- Access and exit 23 on Ronda del Litoral (both directions)
District of Sant Martí
During the disruptions it will be possible to access and exit this zone at all times:
- Access via Carrer del Consell de Cent and exit via Carrer d’Aragó
- The tunnel in Glòries in both directions
- Access to the outbound C-31 from Carrer de la Selva de Mar (opposite direction)
Public transport
People are recommended to use the metro to get around the city between 6.30 am and 3 pm, as some fifty bus services will be affected.

Runners will follow a circuit of 42.195 kilometres all around the city, as follows:
The race starts and finishes in Av. Reina Maria Cristina and passes through Pl. Espanya, the streets of Creu Coberta, Sants and Riera Blanca, Trav. Les Corts, Pl. Doctor Ignasi Barraquer, Av. Sarrià, the streets of París, Berlín, Numància, Tarragona, Diputació and Vilamarí, Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, Passeig de Gràcia, the streets of Aragó, Aribau and Mallorca, and Av. Meridiana as far as Passeig de Santa Coloma. Then it’s back down Av. Meridiana and into the streets of València, Huelva and Bac de Roda, Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, Rambla de Prim, Pl. Llevant and Av. Diagonal as far as Carrer de la Ciutat de Granada, before turning into Av. Diagonal, Pg. Taulat, C/ Josep Pla, Pg. Garcia Fària, C/ Litoral, Av.
