The citywide campaign will run until Sunday, with special attention to the seafront.

The overall goal of the campaign is to reduce accident figures, the number of victims and the severity of injuries.

The City Police establishes intensive campaigns of a certain duration at various times throughout the year, controlling conduct which may pose a risk to people’s safety in public streets and squares. In this case, the campaign will run from today until Sunday, 9 April.

The campaign will be rolled out citywide, paying special attention to the seafront and unlicensed rickshaws.

In terms of infringements, special emphasis will be placed on inappropriate parking, distractions while riding (traffic lights, pedestrian crossings etc.), penalising in particular offences which threaten people’s right to circulate safely on pavements.

Checks will also be carried out to ensure compliance with the obligations of riders and drivers of other types of motor vehicle towards users of personal mobility vehicles, with administrative inspections at premises and establishments offering these vehicles to rent.
