The purpose of the Guàrdia Urbana’s control campaign, which starts today and will finish on Sunday, is to prevent traffic violations, fraud and unfair competition regarding HCD licences.
More specifically, priority traffic violations under the 24-hour campaign will include as follows:
- Providing service with driver’s licence withdrawn, or without the mandatory insurance policy taken out.
- Driving with levels of alcohol in the blood higher than permitted, with drugs detected in the body and refusing to take the corresponding tests.
- Not having up-to-date MOT, especially where this poses a serious and direct threat to people’s safety.
- Failing to abide by the established rest times and days.
- Not having the mandatory price lists available.
The controls and inspections will be carried out above all in areas with a high concentration of these vehicles, such as train and bus stations, points of interest for tourists, shopping areas, and the main streets and area of any point in the city.
