Safety and prevention. Checks will be stepped up and steps taken to correct infringements.

The goal is to curb anti-social attitudes and improve coexistence and respect for others in the city, with the prevention of unauthorised graffiti in public space or private spaces visible from public streets and squares.

The campaign focuses on the correct maintenance of public spaces and will target conduct which entails degradation, with action taken to correct and denounce infringements.

The operation comes as part of the Pla Endreça, the plan to clean up the city with immediate steps relating to cleaning, the maintenance of urban furniture, the control and reduction of anti-social behaviour and the provision of support for vulnerable people.

The campaign started on Monday, 14 August, and will be in place around the clock until Sunday, 20 August, paying special attention to the districts of Ciutat Vella, Sants-Montjuïc and Gràcia.

The city has special spaces where free artistic expression such as graffiti and murals are allowed, without the need to seek authorisation in advance: the city’s Murs Oberts (Open Walls).
