Two inspectors and a sub-inspector with the City Police received distinctions on the Police Day for the Barcelona Metropolitan Policing Region on Wednesday, 17 April, and during the National Police Day ceremony on Friday, 19 April.
Specifically, the members of the corps to receive medals were Josep Martínez, from the Sant Martí Unit, Agustí Méndez, sub-chief for the Santa-Montjuïc Unit, and Eloi Roig, head of the Joint Command Room.
All three received bronze medals with blue distinctions, awarded for recognised acts of bravery in the face of personal risk or danger, standing out in the fulfilment of professional duties or conducting professional or scientific police studies that give the corps prestige.
In addition, in the ceremony by the Barcelona Metropolitan Policing Region, a sergeant, three corporals and five officers received formal congratulations. Five members of the corps will also receive congratulations in the police days to be held between 29 and 30 April in Barcelona, Sitges and Sabadell.
