A sergeant and two officers took part in the employment fair "Escola-Empresa, IV Fira de l’Ocupació" on Thursday, 9 May. The event facilitates contact between students and graduates from the Autonomous University of Barcelona with companies and institutions from the safety and prevention sector.
In the first part of the fair, the members of the City Police took part in a round table with a group of students, along with representatives from the Policia Nacional and Mossos d’Esquadra corps, as well as from the Fire Service operated by the Government of Catalonia. The session offered a chance for dialogue, where students were able to find out about various matters such as the academic paths of the representatives, the difficulties to overcome in competitive exam processes and what daily life is like in the profession.
The three members of the City Police were then on a stand to provide more information for students on how the corps is organised and the recruitment process for joining. The event was organised by the UAB and held at the Hotel Exe Campus Edifici Blanc Vila, on the university campus in Cerdanyola del Vallès.
This is the second event of this type that the City Police have taken part in this year. Along with the Barcelona Fire Service, they took part in the Saló de l’Ensenyament education fair, with a stand and an information session explaining how to join each corps.
