The run has various categories which are all being held within the Parc de Montjuïc, with the exception of the open events (5 km and 10 km), which start at 9 am in Montjuïc and follow a route around various streets in the city. Traffic restrictions will be in place in these streets during the event, with each section to be opened back up to traffic once the runners have passed through.
The route is as follows:
Av. Reina Maria Cristina – Pl. Espanya (side nearest the sea) – Av. Paral·lel (side nearest the Llobregat) – Floridablanca – Entença – Gran Via (central road section) – Gran Via CC, from Rbla. Catalunya to Pg. Gràcia (side nearest the sea) – Gran Via CC, from Pg. Gràcia to Pl. Tetuan (central road section) – Pl. Tetuan (side nearest the sea) – Pg. Sant Joan (side nearest the Llobregat) – Ausiàs Marc – Bruc – Rda. Sant Pere (in the opposite direction) – Pg. Sant Joan, side nearest the Llobregat (end of the 5 km run) – Pg. Lluís Companys, side nearest the Besòs (in the opposite direction) – Buenaventura Muñoz – Roger de Flor (in the opposite direction) – Pg. Pujades (side nearest the sea) – Pg. Picasso (side nearest the Besòs) – Av. Marquès de l’Argentera – Pla de Palau (side nearest the mountains) – Pg. Isabel II (side nearest the mountains) – Pg. Colom (side nearest the mountains) – Pl. Portal de la Pau (side nearest the mountains) – Pg. Josep Carner (side nearest the mountains) – Pl. Drassanes (three lanes, side nearest the mountains) – Av. Paral·lel (side nearest the mountains) – Calàbria – Tamarit, – Av. Paral·lel (side nearest the mountains) – Av. Paral·lel (in the opposite direction) from Lleida to Pl. Espanya – Pl. Espanya (side nearest the sea, in the opposite direction) – Av. Reina Maria Cristina.
The assembly process will also entail road closures:
- Saturday, 30, from 6pm, Av. Reina Maria Cristina.
- Sunday, 1, from 5 am, Av. Rius i Taulet from Guàrdia Urbana to Av. Reina Maria Cristina, and Av. Francesc Ferrer i Guàrdia from Av. Reina Maria Cristina to Pl. Sant Jordi.
The dismantling process will start once the runs are over.
Private vehicles
Parking is prohibited (including motorcycles on pavements) in:
- Av. Reina Maria Cristina, both sides, from 6 am on Friday to 5 pm on Sunday.
- Av. de Rius i Taulet, from Av. Reina Maria Cristina to Guàrdia Urbana (both sides); and Av. Francesc Ferrer i Guàrdia from the approach road to the Pavelló Mies van der Rohe to Av. Reina Maria Cristina (side nearest the sea), from 2pm on Saturday to 5 pm on Sunday.
From 7 pm on Saturday to 11 am on Sunday, neither will parking be allowed in:
- Ronda de Sant Pere, from Pg. Sant Joan to Rda. Sant Pere, 74.
- Buenaventura Muñoz, from Pg. Lluís Companys to Roger de Flor (side nearest the mountains/side nearest the sea).
- Xamfrà Buenaventura Muñoz / Roger de Flor (side nearest the sea / Llobregat).
- Roger de Flor, from Pg. Pujades to Buenaventura Muñoz (side nearest the Besòs).
Vehicles that remain parked in these streets may be removed by the municipal towing service.
Public transport
On Sunday, 1, from roughly 9 am to 2 pm, over thirty Barcelona bus services will be diverted or have the routes limited:
D20, D50, H12, H14, H16, V9, V11, V13, V15, V17, V19, 7, 13, 19, 21, 22, 24, 39, 46, 47, 54, 55, 59, 63, 65, 67, 79, 120, 121, 141, 150 and Barcelona Bus Turístic (red and blue routes).
Given the magnitude of the disruptions, people are advised to use the metro between 9 and 2 am to get around parts of the city that coincide with the route.
To get to the start and finish lines of the various runs, people can get of at the Espanya metro station (L1/L3). To get to the finish line for the 5 km run, the nearest metro stop for Passeig Lluís Companys is Arc de Triomf (L1).
