The City Police will be conducting a new enforcement campaign all this week to combat unauthorised graffiti in public space, avoiding the degradation of the city and improving coexistence.

Officers will be working towards the proper maintenance of public space, considering degradation of the urban environment all types of graffiti, daubed paint, stains, scribbles, writing, inscriptions of graphic content marked with ink, paint or any other organic material, as well as marks scratched into the surface of public assets.

Unauthorised graffiti on urban furniture, facilities, façades of public buildings, public transport elements and gardens or traffic signs will lead to fines of between 100 and 600 euros.

The campaign is part of the Barcelona City Council’s Pla Endreça, which sets out a wide range of coordinated measures across all municipal services, the goal being to regain the excellence of quality public space.
