The last campaign of this type was conducted from 8 to 14 November last year and concluded with 807 formal denouncements.
The campaign started yesterday and will be in place until Sunday, the goal being to ensure compliance with the conditions governing the circulation of PMVs and bicycles, as well as to cut accident rates involving these vehicles, the number of victims caused an the severity of injuries.
To this end, the police checks will verify the correct use and circulation of cycles, PMVs and pedal vehicles with more than two wheels. At the same time, the focus will be on the obligation of riders of these vehicles, users of other types of motor vehicles and pedestrians in relation to cyclists and PMV riders.
As usual, particular attention will be given to PMVs in the C1 category, which engage in economic activity in the city. The priority will be tricycle rickshaws along the seafront, premises devoted to the hire of PMVs, bikes and cycles with more than two wheels.
The proliferation of these types of vehicles in the city has made them a priority for the Barcelona police corps. Because of this, campaigns with checks of this type will throughout 2022.
