Two City Police officers helped a woman give birth in Carrer de Roger de Flor in Barcelona on Wednesday, 23 November. The 36-year-old woman was with her partner when she started feeling strong pains and went into labour.
It was at that point that the couple spotted the City Police patrol and asked for help. The two officers were quickly on hand to assist and alert the emergency medical services, but the woman had given birth by the time the medics arrived.
The officers, who were joined by another patrol, swiftly prepared to assist the woman and her baby, a girl born in a fine state of health and who was taken to hospital in an ambulance.
The officers visited the family yesterday afternoon to take them a photo of the birth of their daughter. The couple took advantage of the occasion to thank the City Police for quickly helping at such a delicate moment.
