Campaign to monitor chauffeured vehicles with a capacity for up to nine passengers

09/10/2023 - 14:20 h

Safety and prevention. This specific campaign by the City Police will be in place until Sunday, 15 October.

The City Police campaign starts today (Monday) and will be in place until Sunday 15, the goal being to prevent non-compliance, fraud and unfair competition relating to licences for chauffeured vehicles.

Specifically, the round-the-clock campaign will prioritise checks on the following:

  • Provision of service while disqualified from driving or without the obligatory insurance.
  • Driving while over the legal limit for alcohol or with the presence of drugs in the body, or not taking the corresponding tests if required to.
  • Not having a valid MOT licence, particularly where this poses a direct and serious danger to people’s safety.
  • Non-compliance with established days and hours of rest.
  • Not having the established pricing tables.

Inspections and checks will mainly affect areas where these vehicles have a strong presence, such as train and bus stations, tourist spots, shopping areas and the main streets at any point around the city.
