Safety and prevention. Any sort of graffiti, daubed paint, scribbles, markings, writing, etchings or graphics made using paint or ink are regarded as degrading the urban environment.

The City Police will be stepping up its enforcement work through until Sunday, 19 May, relating to unauthorised graffiti in public and private spaces visible from public streets and squares.

The corps will be working in public spaces, intervening to correct any behaviour which degrades the surroundings and combatting anti-social conduct, favouring coexistence and respectful behaviour.

Any sort of graffiti, daubed paint, scribbles, markings, writing, etchings or graphics made using paint, ink or any other organic materials are regarded as degrading the urban environment, as is scratching the surface of elements in public space.

Guaranteeing coexistence in public space and insisting on cleaning and maintaining the city within the context of prevention, respectful behaviour and safety, is one of the main goals of the Pla Endreça. The most important ways for achieving this are for such acts to be reported and fines issued for anti-social behaviour. In this respect, the number of denouncements formalised for graffiti rose by 47% in 2023.
