The eDreams Barcelona Half Marathon means various disruptions to mobility on Sunday, 19 February. The event gets under way at 8.30 am and all vehicles will be restricted on the roads around the route while the run takes place.
The start and finish line are at the same point, in Passeig de Pujades, between Roger de Flor and Wellington. Runners will cover the following route: down Passeig de Picasso as far as Avinguda del Marquès de l’Argentera, then on to Pla de Palau, Passeig d’Isabel II and Carrer de Colom, Plaça del Portal de la Pau, Passeig de Josep Carner and Plaça de les Drassanes. Participants then head up Avinguda del Paral·lel as far as Carrer d’Entença and make their way along Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes as far as Bailèn and Ronda de Sant Pere. The route then continues along Passeig de Lluís Companys and the streets of Buenaventura Muñoz, Pallars, Llacuna, Perú and Josep Pla. Runners then go back into Gran Via as far as Rambla de Prim, before turning into Avinguda Diagonal, and at Carrer d’Espronceda change direction along Diagonal and head towards the Besòs river as far as Plaça de Llevant and Passeig del Taulat. After that it’s along Passeig de Garcia Fària and Carrer de la Jonquera before moving into Avinguda del Litoral. Runners will then head along the streets of Arquitecte Sert and Salvador Espriu, go through Plaça dels Voluntaris and run along Carrer de la Marina as far as Passeig de Pujades, where the event ends.
Traffic restricted and parking prohibition
As from 4 am on Sunday, Passeig de Pujades (including the bike lane) will be closed to traffic between Wellington and Lluís Companys, in the direction of the Besòs. At 5 am the restriction will be extended as far as Passeig de Picasso, and as from 7.45 am (or before if the number of runners warrants it), the warm-up spaces and area before the start-grid will also be closed to vehicles. Traffic circulation is expected to resume around 3 pm.
Parking will also be prohibited around the entre route from 7.30 an on 18 February until 12.30 pm the following day. Vehicles which remain parked, despite signage and the measures adopted, will be immobilised to prevent them being moved during the event.
Public transport
Bikes at Bicing stations all around the route will be out of service during the Half Marathon.
Various bus routes will also be disrupted between 7.30 am and 3 pm: D20, D50, H12, H14, H16, V9, V11, V13, V15, V17, V19, V21, V23, V25, V27, V29, V31, 6, 7, 13, 19, 21, 22, 24, 39, 47, 54, 55, 59, 63, 67, 120, 121, 136, 141, 192 and the Barcelona Bus Turístic. Because of this, users are recommended to use the metro during these times and for journeys in areas and streets where the event takes place.
The Trambesòs T4 service will also be disrupted, with full service on this line expected to be reestablished from 12.20 pm.
