Enforcement campaign for lorries and vans under way

18/11/2024 - 11:32 h

Safety and prevention. Enforcement will focus on infringements linked to speed and excess loads.

The goal of this week-long campaign is to check that these vehicles have the corresponding authorisations and that they respect general traffic regulations, as well as documentary, administrative and technical requisites.

Lorries and vans used for transporting goods have different characteristics to cars. This is why it is important, through campaigns such as this one, to check on their circulation paying particular attention to aspects such as speed, possible excess loads and the specific regulations that correspond to them.

The City Police will be correcting infringements relating to missing operational documentation and anything else that constitutes a danger for all other road users.

Officers will also be focusing on the detection of possible technical defects and unauthorised modifications to vehicles, which will entail checks on technical inspection cards.

Road traffic victims can be avoided and we need to be more aware to be able to halve fatalities and severe injuries, as set out in the Road Safety Strategy 2030, with a view to achieving zero fatalities by 2050.
