Implementing conscious time management
The organisation joins the Barcelona Time Pact as a commitment to the implementation of a new time culture in the organisation. It is committed, in its Strategic Plan, to developing healthy time management, in line with Sustainable Development Goal 8 for Decent Work and Economic Growth of the 2030 Agenda.
In this context, the Corporate Social Responsibility Plan includes the Project for the promotion of healthy habits in relation to time management. In this project, a conference was given by an expert on timetables, work-life balance and productivity. Promoted by the Ethics and Social Responsibility Committee and in order to make progress in the rationalisation of working hours, a couple of decalogues have been created which, in a visual and direct way, aim to help ICO professionals to provide the basic keys to improve time management in the use of e-mail and in work meetings. Among other things, the decalogues include respecting employees' working hours and digital disconnection rights.
Likewise, in order to make progress in aspects of time flexibility in space, an organisational transformation project has been promoted that foresees the deployment of 350 portable work teams that will be distributed among professionals in the different ICO centres for teleworking. This new work model favours family reconciliation, saves time in commuting between home and work, and reduces energy consumption and pollution caused by private vehicles.
The institution has been awarded the SG21 management system certificate for CSR, the Spanish government's equality in business award for equality and ISO 9001 quality certificates for people management, pharmacy, molecular diagnostics, radiation oncology, medical physics and radiological protection.
