Online search
Users have free, open telematic access to digitised documents and descriptive metadata via the online Barcelona Municipal Archives Catalogue.
By means of a simple or advanced search, the catalogue lets you consult thousands of descriptions of documents kept at the AMB and download images of them if there are any available. Part of the documents included are totally or partially digitised and the rest are described without images.
In order to guarantee intellectual property and use of image rights, requests for copies for commercial use, publication and dissemination have to be made at the archive centre where the original is kept.
In person
If you are over 16, you are free to come and consult, without any charge, all the original documents and information resources that might be of interest to you.
Access to some documents is restricted or reserved because they contain data of a personal nature or are in a bad state of conservation.
Entry to the reference rooms in most centres requires advance booking. If you want to make a consultation at the Barcelona Contemporary Archives, please follow these instructions.
Speak to the reference room staff if you have a query regarding any of the fonds or collections kept. We will attend to you personally in the course of your search.
