Classification schemes
One that needs highlighting is the Uniform classification scheme, which organises documents generated by Barcelona City Council since the first third of the 19th century
This framework follows a logical structure and hierarchy covering the functions, activities and transactions carried out by the various bodies and individuals that make up the municipal government, making it possible to identify and retrieve municipal documents.
Other classification schemes that should be mentioned are the Schemes for the fonds of towns and villages added to the Barcelona municipality and the Schemes for medieval and modern municipal fonds.
