Archive itineraries

Below you’ll find eight itineraries for upper primary school students and secondary school students (and, in one case, upper secondary school students too) to explore and learn about the history and most important architectural remains in some of Barcelona’s neighbourhoods linked to the Sarrià - Sant Gervasi, Ciutat Vella, Eixample, Nou Barris, Gràcia, Horta-Guinardó, Sant Martí and Sant Andreu districts.

Each of the itineraries is based on documents stored in the Arxiu Municipal de Barcelona and, more specifically, in the municipal district archives associated with each one. These contain a general explanation of the itinerary, notebooks for primary and secondary school students (and upper secondary school students in the case of the Nou Barris itinerary), summaries for primary and secondary school teachers, and an outline of the itinerary and details about each stop in A3 format.

All the materials have been designed to be worked on beforehand in class, but also for students to complete the notebooks during the respective itineraries in the street. The notebooks include QR codes which mostly link to the Arxiu Municipal de Barcelona’s online catalogue, so students can consult all the documents that the itineraries have been built around, which are necessary for completing the proposed activities for the various education levels.

These itineraries are also aimed at the general public and can be carried out as self-guided routes.
