Dogs can now swim at the Llevant beach
31/05/2023 - 15:48 h
Barcelona’s dog beach is back again this year, located at the northern extreme of the Llevant beach. The space covers an area of 1,500 square metres, an increase of 20%, and has a capacity for 120 dogs. The beach will be reserved for guide dogs for a few hours during three days in the summer, with dogs from the Barcelona Pet Shelter to use it on Wednesdays.
The dog beach will be open from 10.30 am to 7.30 pm. It has adapted furniture with drinking facilities and a monitoring area to check that the animals have identification chips. Occupancy levels can be found on the beaches website.
The beach will be open for guide dogs to make use of on three days this summer on 17 June, 9 July and 5 August, from 8.30 am to 10.30 am.
Beach outings for animals at the Barcelona Pet Shelter (CAACB) will continue this year on Wednesdays, with twenty dogs also getting time at the Can Jané swimming pool in La Roca del Vallès on 14 July, accompanied by volunteers from the centre.
