Bodies Involved
Ecology, Urban Planning and Mobility Area has different instruments as well as advisory and participatory bodies for effective involvement and collaboration in municipal projects with the general public, groups and organizations, and both public and private entities.
Services
The Council sees to the smooth running of the city services, to ensure the daily wellbeing of the public and contribute towards the city's development.

Agreement to apply artificial intelligence to manage traffic lights

Barcelona City Council and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) sign an agreement to assess the potential application of artificial intelligence to regulate traffic lights in the city. The goal of the study is to develop a roadmap with specific actions based on AI in specific routes and transport services.

The work will be organised into four different tasks: assessment and definition of the current situation, knowledge of strategies and technologies available around the world, development of a project for Barcelona and the creation of roadmap with specific actions for the local area.
