As from 8 September, coinciding with the start of the school year, trains will be back in circulation on the two metro lines affected by the safety improvement work carried out in the summer.

The work enabled six kilometres of track to be renewed, reducing the number of incidents and vibrations. The closure was also used to upgrade the signalling system. TMB invested some 20 million euros in the work in all.

The TMB website includes a selection of photographs of the work carried out, such as the switch from track ballast to concrete along the section in question, the introduction of new fixings to prevent vibrations, and spaces conditioned for the installation of the new signalling system.
