Barcelona City Council

Barcelona City Council is organising the fourth edition of the Barcelona Restaurant Awards, an event that showcases city restaurants which stood out in 2022 for their links to their neighbourhood and values such as integration, quality of life, sustainability, innovation and adaptability to changing times.

CATEGORIES

There are three award categories:

1. Culinary quality (product).

2. Integration with the neighbourhood (social).

3. Renown or innovation (establishment).

In addition to the three categories mentioned above, and according to the consideration and criteria of the jury, two additional distinctions are awarded among all the people taking part.

The Sustainability Award to showcase a best practice linked to the principles of sustainability and the circular economy, and an honourable mention for one of the participants to recognise their exceptional contribution to the city's restaurant sector over time. 

If these two additional awards are presented, the winners will receive a diploma in recognition of their success.

PARTICIPANTS

Any natural or legal person who is the owner of one or more restaurants located in the City of Barcelona may apply to take part in these awards.

APPLICATIONS AND DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING PROPOSALS

Anyone interested in taking part must present their application document, which is attached as an annexe to the call for applications.

The necessary information and the form for presenting a candidacy for the awards may be obtained from Barcelona City Council's commerce website, 

• If the applicant is a legal person, they must submit their application online via the email premisbarcelonarestauracio@confirmacions.com 

• If the applicant is a natural person, the application may be submitted at any Citizen Help and Information Office (OAC) in Barcelona.

PERIOD FOR SUBMITTING PROPOSALS

The deadline for submitting proposals will be fifteen business days starting from the day after publication of the call for applications in the BOPB.

AWARDS CEREMONY

The awards will be presented at a ceremony held in 2023. 

During the ceremony, a commemorative award will be presented to the winning candidates in each of the categories.

The winning candidates will also receive the promotion resulting from the actions carried out by the City Council on media that include official websites, social media and articles in specialist publications.

DISSEMINATION MEASURES

The winners will mention the award they have obtained on their own media, including websites, social media, etc., as well as in printed and audiovisual media where they may be present or their presence requested.
