Barcelona City Council

Barcelona City Council, through the Directorate for Commerce, Restaurants and Consumer Services, is launching the fifth edition of the Barcelona Restaurant Awards with the aim of highlighting the neighbourhood restaurants in the city of Barcelona that have stood out for their work in 2024 and have not received any other significant recognition.

CATEGORIES

There are five award categories:

1. Gastronomic quality (product)
2. Integration in the neighbourhood (social)
3. Award for Sustainability (process)
4. Award for Front of House Service
5. Award for Restaurants in Barcelona Markets

At the request of the jury, a special honourable mention can be awarded to restaurants and/or people linked to the restaurant sector for their exceptional contribution to raising the visibility of restaurants in the city over time. The honourable mention comes with a diploma.

PARTICIPANTS

Any natural or legal person who is the owner of one or more restaurants located in the City of Barcelona may apply to take part in these awards.

APPLICATIONS AND DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING PROPOSALS

Anyone interested in taking part must present their application document, which is attached as an annexe to the call for applications.

All the information needed and the award nomination form can be found on the Barcelona City Council commerce website.

• If the applicant is a legal person, the application must be submitted electronically via the email address indicated on the web page and the form. 
• If the applicant is a natural person, the application can also be submitted via any Citizen Help and Information Office (OAC) in Barcelona.

PERIOD FOR SUBMITTING PROPOSALS

The submission period opens on the day following the publication of the call in the BOPB and closes on 10 September this year (both days included).

AWARDS CEREMONY

The awards will be presented at a ceremony held in 2024. The date, time and place will be announced in due course and by means that ensure the information reaches the interested parties. 

During the ceremony, a commemorative award will be presented to the winning candidates in each of the categories. 

The winning candidates will also receive the promotion resulting from the actions carried out by the City Council on media that include official websites, social media and articles in specialist publications. 

DISSEMINATION MEASURES 

The award winners will mention the award they have won on their own media channels, including websites, social media, etc., and any written or audiovisual media that may be present or required.
