Barcelona City Council invites the public to enter the Jocs Florals de Barcelona Poetry Awards 2026.

A single prize is awarded for the best collection of poems in Catalan. 

This prize is worth €9,000 (before tax) and the work will then be published under the Cadup seal with the Godall Edicions publishing house. A contract will be signed with the author, setting out the intellectual property rights.

To be eligible for the prize, entries must be original, unpublished, written by living poets, of a similar length to that of a conventional poetry book and all by the same author.

Only one collection of poems per author may be submitted.

If any poems in the collection have been published, the author must list them and state they were published in the sealed envelope that identifies the author. Published verses must not exceed five percent of the total verses in the work. 

After formal rule approval, send six copies of the works to the Oficina Ciutadana de la Cultura at Palau de la Virreina (La Rambla, 99, 08002 Barcelona) or deliver them there in person, from Monday to Sunday, from 10.15 am to 8.15 pm.

The cover of the works must state the title of the work and the pseudonym and, in an accompanying sealed envelope, the author’s identification must be included: first name and surname(s) and their contact details (address, telephone number and email address). The title of the work and the pseudonym must appear on the outside of the envelope.

The submission period for original works ends on Wednesday, 28 January 2026, at 8.15 pm.
