SANT ANDREU CONTEMPORANI (SAC) is a public programme run by Barcelona City Council - Sant Andreu District that supports, promotes and helps produce emerging contemporary art. The programme consists of exhibitions, workshops, talks, curatorial projects, an education programme, a community engagement programme, and an artist residency programme, all designed to provide creators with the tools they need for their professional development. 

Each year, Sant Andreu Contemporani organises the Miquel Casablancas Visual Arts Contest, inviting submissions in four categories from young artists throughout the country: 

1. WORK
2. PROJECT
3. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
4. VISUAL COMMUNICATION

Creators living in Spain who were born after 1 January 1989 can enter as individuals, and national or foreign art collectives can enter as groups. In the case of collectives, at least half of the members must meet the individual requirements stated above. 

Only one entry/work per artist is allowed in each category. Should a single entry be submitted under more than one category, it will only be eligible for one of the prizes. Winning entries from previous editions cannot be submitted in the same category for which they won the prize. 

Participation in the contest implies acceptance of these rules. 

The submission period for applications, from 1 February 2025 to 15 March 2025, is subject to the final approval of the terms and conditions, which should take place on 13 February 2025 if no objections have been raised in the period established for this purpose.
