The Sant Martí Awards constitute an honorary distinction that recognise work of particular importance or public interest carried out in the district by people, organisations or institutes in its neighbourhoods, for the significance of their work in any of the following areas:

• Promoting association activities
• Music
• Arts
• Visual Arts
• Performing arts
• Sports
• Sociocultural promotion
• Economic promotion
• Media
• Recovering festivals and traditions
• History of the district’s neighbourhoods
• Contribution to improving collective life
• Cooperation and solidarity

The Sant Martí Awards are presented annually, together with the commemorative Sant Martí Medals that distinguish organisations which, in the year of the awards, have been constituted for 25, 50, 75 or 100 years, or successive multiples of 25 years.

Any natural or legal person can submit a candidacy for the Sant Martí Awards, either in the individual men’s or women’s categories or in the collective category. 

Each person or organisation can submit their own candidacy for the Awards.

Candidacies for the commemorative Sant Martí Medals may come from:

1. The organisation itself, accrediting its age and the work it does in Sant Martí.
2. The District, in accordance with the certified data from the General File of Public Organisations held by Barcelona City Council, and with the organisation’s prior agreement.

The application period is open from 1 July to 30 September, inclusive.

Candidacies must be submitted telematically, via the e-register on Barcelona City Council’s virtual procedures website.

The category of the candidacy must be indicated on the online application form:

1. “Candidacy for the Sant Martí Awards”, for awards in the individual or collective categories.
2. “Candidacy for Sant Martí Medals”, for the commemorative medals.
