The Crea Feina Barcelona 2025 programme is a new initiative to promote the creation of quality jobs in the city. The general aim is to encourage the recruitment of some 235 people who are currently unemployed and have a research/doctorate background or experience that is of strategic interest for the social and impact economy, and there are various specific objectives, such as: revitalising the jobs market by supporting companies with job creation capacities, promoting the growth of the companies involved in the programme, and supporting the labour market integration of unemployed people who lack professional experience, people who have been out of work for a long time, and those with difficulties relating to their age and/or who belong to collectives identified as being at risk of social exclusion. The aim is also to support people with scientific and research backgrounds, enabling them to make progress in getting the qualifications they need and achieve academic and professional excellence, and lend their talent to the research projects of companies and organisations in Barcelona relating to innovation and the continuous improvement of their products and services. Alongside this, the aim is to favour their incorporation into organisations and companies in the social economy and social impact economy, and to incorporate talent that enables these organisations to scale up, bolstering their organisational capabilities or introducing new lines of activity which, without this support, they would not be able to attract.

The programme offers financial support for the following three lines of action:

CREATING INCLUSIVE JOBS: 

• People looking for their first job
• The long-term unemployed
• People in situations of social vulnerability who might be considered to be at risk of social exclusion, according to the Mayoral Decree on sustainable public procurement, of 24 April 2017, and subsequent updates.

CREATING RESEARCH JOBS:

• Research personnel that have a PhD.

CREATING SOCIAL AND IMPACT ECONOMY JOBS: 

• Personnel to promote the introduction of business scale-up plans and/or business enhancement in social economy companies and organisations, as well as other initiatives or social impact economy, environmental impact or good governance companies.

Those eligible to apply for the subsidies are companies, individuals or corporations, and entities that have at least one work centre in a municipality within the Barcelona Metropolitan Area that the person hired within the framework of this measure would be attached to, and who comply with the governing regulations.

The programme is managed through an IT application created for this purpose, which applicants will have to use.

Once the governing rules and the call for applications have been definitively approved, the application submission period will open, and it will remain open until 19 September 2025 (both dates included).
