Barcelona City Council

The City Council’s Government Commission has agreed, among other matters, to grant preliminary approval (pending definitive approval) of the terms and conditions for Barcelona City Council’s 2024 grants to help self-employed individuals start new business activities (Activa Autòno+ 2024), which shall be awarded in a non-competitive, public process; to submit the terms and conditions to public scrutiny for a period of twenty working days, starting from the day after their publication in the Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona; and to designate BARCELONA ACTIVA, SAU SPM as a partner institution.

Barcelona’s grants to help self-employed individuals start new business activities (Activa Autòno+ 2024) is an initiative to increase job creation in the city, with the general aim of fostering self-employment for around 700 people (taking into account the average amount of financial aid awarded in previous programmes). In short, the idea is to provide incentives for new business activities and increase effective employment by fostering self-employment for registered residents in the city of Barcelona. 

The period for submitting applications for the 2024 grants is two months from the day after the terms and conditions have been definitively approved. The start and end dates for submitting applications shall be published in good time on the city government website and the programme website.
