The purpose of this ordinary call is to award subsidies through a competitive public process for non-profit legal persons for the control and management of the city’s cat colonies. 

Projects that are eligible for subsidies will have to control and look after cat populations through sterilisation, under the CSR method (capture, sterilisation and return).

The programme to control cat communities in the city of Barcelona consists of the establishment and identification of colonies, that is a feeding point or set of feeding points, and the control of the colony through sterilisations applying the CSR method (capture, sterilisation, return).

The scope of this call is the city of Barcelona, divided into eleven territorial areas.

Applicant organisations are obliged to take part in at least two areas and must make an application for each zone with the corresponding project.

Requests from organisations must meet the following requirements:

• The project must have objectives and purposes that are in line with those established in this call.
• The activities to be carried out must complement municipal competence.
• The project and the activities derived from it must be carried out in the municipality of Barcelona.
• Activities must not be for profit.
• The project must be recognised by other organisations and services operating in the same area.
• The programmed activities must end on 31 December 2025.
• Applications must avoid sexist language.
• Projects of the same nature cannot be put forward in the ordinary subsidy call.

Subsidy applications will be accepted from legal entities which submit a request for funding for an initiative they plan to implement that is in line with the aims of the call.

Applicants may also incorporate into their project cooperation with natural persons or entities, regardless of whether or not they are legal persons. These persons or entities take part in the project as collaborators because of the added value their participation brings and they are therefore not regarded in any case as applicants or, as a consequence, beneficiaries of the subsidy.

The period for submitting corrections and objections is from 7 to 21 August, both dates inclusive.
