All set for a safe April Fair

21/04/2023 - 10:19 h

The City Police will be running a special operation and extra public transport is to be laid on.

Barcelona’s City Police will be working to ensure the fair is held safely and avoid any uncivil behaviour, unauthorised vending or other conduct which may affect the normal use of public space. Breathalyser and drug tests will also be carried out.

The City Police will also be actively working to prevent sexual violence in and around the fair, in particular with the recommended safe routes.

In this respect, there will be a purple point on the site for preventing gender violence and LGBTI-phobia and providing assistance. If needed, staff there will be able to activate the safety protocol against sexual violence in leisure environments.

Disruptions to mobility

Extra metro services are being laid on, particularly on the L4, as well as bus services on routes with stops near the Fòrum at times when the fair is on, particularly at the weekend. The TramBesòs will also see trams passing more frequently on the T4 line and adopt special safety measures at nearby stations.

As for taxi services, there will be stops at Pg. Taulat, 262, and the on the seafront next to Pl. Llevant (side nearest the sea).

Other measures include a ban on parking (including motorbikes on pavements) from 6 pm on 21 April to midnight on 1 May in Av. Litoral (side nearest the sea), between C/ Josep Pla and C/ Neus Pouza Gil (Moll de la Vela).

The area for setting down people with functional diversity will be between Pl. Llevant and C/ Josep Pla.

Motorbikes will be able to park in the area indicated with road markings in the inner section of Av. Eduard Maristany, past the Telefónica building.
