New City Police operation to reduce inconvenience caused by noise

15/07/2024 - 09:00 h

Safety and prevention. The week-long campaign starts today.

Priority will be given to areas in the city with high levels of noise, particularly in public streets and squares, with routes established to monitor and identify activity which generates noise.

Specifically, enforcement will entail checks and fines for activity that disrupts local people’s rest. Such as:

  • Musical performances outside of established hours.
  • Non-compliance with soundproofing conditions at nightlife premises.
  • Household noise or noise at night that disturbs others.
  • Shouting outside.
  • Noises from pets.
  • Disorder in public spaces or establishments.
  • Using music systems that disturb others at the beach or in parks.

One of the main goals of the City Police is to improve people’s quality of life. This is why cutting noise pollution through campaigns such as this are one of the priorities of the Barcelona police corps.
