Barcelona City Council’s IMI leads the way in applying innovative solutions to the management of its services and resources for improving the quality of life of its citizens, by rising to the challenge of coordinating several European-level projects. The aim is to deploy initiatives to comprehensively aggregate and optimise resources to the benefit of the public.
Description
The CloudOpting project mainly envisages the development of a common platform where public institutions can share their current services and IT applications on Cloud.
By using this proposal, European public authorities will be able to:
- Provide the public and businesses with online public services through a created common infrastructure.
- Provide Public Authorities with the mechanisms for controlling the costs of Cloud resources.
- Enable local IT businesses to have a market at their disposal that is shared by the authorities where they can publish and promote their solutions under a public-private collaboration framework.
