In Barcelona, we remember some winters more than others, but there is a tradition that persists year after year. The Christmas lights illuminate the streets of Barcelona since 1957. Petritxol street was the first to set up the lights in the city. The year after that, La Rambla, Via Laietana and Pelai street also joined the iniciative. Ever since, the city has been illuminated, for sixty-six Christmas holidays with no exception. It is thanks to the conservation of the documentary heritage that the history of Barcelona can keep shining.
