About us
The Human Rights Resource Centre (CRDH) is a service for the public, associations' network and the city's government bodies that works for the prevention, respect and protection of human rights in the city, in accordance with the principles of equality and non-discrimination. What does the CRDH do?
- TRAINING: It provides entities, schools, the city’s associations' network and the City Council itself with training and education advice on human rights and non-discrimination.
- DISSEMINATION: It produces articles and reports on rights in the city, in order to disseminate human rights in an accessible and connected way with current events, and prepares the report of the Observatory of Discrimination in Barcelona.
- WOMEN HUMAN RIGHTS DEFENDERS: It provides a meeting place and a place for dissemination for women human rights defenders, promoting connections between local and international women defenders, publicising their role, and enabling them to share their experiences to raise awareness.
- DOCUMENTATION: It gathers documents and resources and disseminates them openly in order to raise public awareness and contribute to academic specialisation and research.
- ADVICE: It provides advice and works on including a human rights-based approach in public policies, promoting the ‘Barcelona, City of Rights’ programme. It works together with other cities through the European Coalition of Cities against Racism (ECCAR).
