Workshop: Equal treatment at work.
Detecting and reporting discrimination in our place of work.
What is it about?
The workshop aims to present the principles of equal treatment and non-discrimination, and relate them to the reality of Barcelona. It will explain the work done by the Barcelona Discrimination Observatory, the results of its annual report on discrimination and the main forms of discrimination it deals with. The workshop also offers specific examples of discrimination that occur around us, placing special emphasis on the role of public workers in regard to equal treatment and detecting and reporting discrimination. Lastly, it will showcase the tools that the city uses to tackle discrimination, such as the service offered by the Office for Non-Discrimination.
Who is it for?
The workshop is aimed at administration personnel, and its content can be adapted according to the level of prior knowledge on human rights and discrimination.
How will you do that?
The activity is offered in both in-person and virtual formats, combining theory with specific examples that will be shown through audiovisual resources. The workshop will have a practical section in which various real Office for Non-Discrimination cases will be analysed, and participants will reflect on how to act in each case, as representatives of the administration.
