09/04/2023 - 10:18 h
Final approval has been given to the project to remodel the areas around five schools according to the criteria in the “Protecting Schools” programme, as well as eco street corners in C/ Aragó. The projects were chosen and voted for by local people through the participatory budget process and are located around the districts of Ciutat Vella, L’Eixample, Les Corts and Sant Martí.
The measures applied through the “Protecting Schools” programme include the road surfaces and pavements adjacent to schools. Depending on the characteristics of each space, structural or tactical work will be carried out and play elements, garden tubs and urban furniture installed as follows:
- Area around the Escola Pere IV and the Institut Quatre Cantons (Sant Martí)
- Area around the Escola Collaso i Gil (Ciutat Vella)
- Area around the Escola Duran i Bas (Les Corts).
- Area around the Escola Joan Miró (Carrer d’Entença, L’Eixample)
The five eco street corners will be created in C/ Aragó and represent tactical urban planning to regain spaces currently used by vehicles. The street corners are at:
- Aragó-Entença
- Aragó-Viladomat
- Aragó – Comte d’Urgell
- Aragó-Bruc
- Aragó-Nàpols
Work is set to start in June and last two months, with a budget of 700,000 euros.
