07/04/2023 - 10:17 h
The start of the mid-season means life-saving and information services are now in operation, sports activities by zone are now regulated and the ban on smoking is firmly in place at the beaches. The dog beach is 20% bigger this year and will be opening on 27 May.
The new regulations for sports activity at the beaches establishes the following limits.
Free sports can be pursued at the six areas for this at the Sant Miquel, Somorrostro, Nova Icària and Bogatell beaches, with no limits on times, while organised sport is at the specified areas, with authorisation and established times.
Surfing, paddle surf and sailing are always allowed, away from the bathing area, except if the emergency plan is in place for rough seas or unless security forces prohibit it.
Recreational fishing is allowed at all beaches from 9 pm to 10 am, and as from 7 pm at Barceloneta beach.

The space set aside for people with dogs is at Llevant beach and opens for the high season on 27 May.
The space is bigger this year, covering an area of 1,500 square metres with a capacity for 120 dogs. As with previous years, animals must have a chip to access the beach.
Healthier smoke-free beaches
The ban on smoking and the consumption of products which release nicotine is being consolidated, the goal being to preserve people’s health and keep spaces clean.
