All Montjuïc on one website

The mountain’s news items and “what's on”, a map of the facilities and services on it, advice on how to reach and get about it and so on. All the information you need for enjoying everything on offer at Montjuïc Park can be found on the new accessible website from barcelona.cat/montjuic.

Museums, gardens, sports facilities, a castle… there are 130 facilities and services on Montjuïc mountain aimed not just at local residents in the Marina, Poble-sec and Font de la Guatlla neighbourhoods but at the rest of the city and its visitors too. Montjuïc Park’s new webpage is being launched within the municipal website as a one-shop-stop for presenting the huge variety of green spaces and cultural, sports and leisure facilities that are found on this 376-hectare urban park.

Appearing first and foremost under a carousel of notable panoramic images are all the news items relating to the mountain, its facilities and mobility arrangements. Underneath, the Montjuïc What’s on will display the six most notable activities of the coming days, as well as a search engine for browsing through a whole range of cultural, sports and leisure offers we can find on the mountain.

Montjuïc Park’s 130 services and facilities are classed and displayed on a map so you can’t miss any of them and to make it easy for you to find them. If you don’t know where to begin for discovering them, the website offers you some of the most notable in each season of the year, facilities and gardens alike, because Montjuïc is also a park of parks.

The map appears on a specific page on this website, along with an explanation and tool for choosing the means of transport you can use for reaching the Montjuïc or getting about on it: metro, bus, funicular and cable car, as well as taxis, private vehicles and, of course, bicycles and your own feet, seeing that walking around there is the best way for discovering it. Another page explains the nature and functioning of the Park’s Council, the regular, permanent participatory body for all public and private operators working on Montjuïc. It is in the framework of their participation in this council that we can see the need for providing the mountain with this new website, available in Catalan, Spanish and English, so that everyone can enjoy the best experience at all times when they visit Montjuïc.

The launch of this new website, on 2 November, is one of the initiatives provided for under the Montjuïc Park Action Plan for 2019-2029 to make it more accessible to the public. This plan sets out the strategies for reclaiming Montjuïc as the city’s big green space, recognising its heritage, improving its safety and mobility and making it accessible to everyone.
