New traffic signs obliging riders to get off bikes and scooters installed at another 24 points in Ciutat Vella
04/01/2024 - 12:53 h
A team of information staff will be operating around the district from 8 January, explaining that the sign does not prohibit access but does oblige riders to proceed on foot. The City Police will back up the work of the information staff to ensure people abide by the regulations.
The new signs are intended to strengthen the message in areas where riders of these vehicles are already obliged to get off them, helping towards greater harmony between all users.
In all, the city has 33 signposted points where pedestrian use is heavy and where the circulation of riders at least one metre from façades, as stipulated by municipal regulations, is not possible.
The measure is part of the Pla Endreça, which includes comprehensive maintenance work right across the board, the goal being to achieve the excellence of the city’s public space.
