City Council’s public and private prices frozen for 2025

26/11/2024 - 14:28 h

Most pricing applicable for public and private services managed by the City Council will be frozen or increased by the official CPI inflation rate.

Most social services, such as accommodation, residences, supervised housing, day centres and temporary residential stays for the elderly will keep the same pricing for users. Prices will also be unchanged for social programmes such as “Temps per a tu” (leisure activities for children and teenagers), “Àpats en companyia” (meals in the company of others) and the Home Support Service.

Bicing, Endolla and the Zoo prices unchanged

The public bike rental service, Endolla Barcelona and the Zoo will also be keeping the same prices next year. In contrast, the tourist admission price for Park Güell will be increasing from the current 10 euros to 18 euros, within the framework of the increase in tourist taxes. Free and open access for local people will still be guaranteed.

Tibidabo Amusement Park will also be updating its pricing after three years of significant investments and improvement. Admission to the whole park will rise from 35 to 39 euros for adults, while the price for the Panoramic Area will rise from 19 to 21.5 euros. Reductions for minors will still apply, according to the height of each child. For its part, the Fundació Mies Van der Rohe will be one euro more expensive.

Waste collection tax to rise by law

Public pricing for waste collection will be increased according to Act 7/2022, which obliges taxes to match the real costs of the service. The increase in public prices, frozen since 2019, includes the costs of the new cleaning and waste collection contract and the revision to pricing will be introduced gradually over the next three years.

Pricing for Cementiris de Barcelona and Mercabarna will be increased according to inflation (CPI).

These public and private prices will be valid from 1 January 2025. The Commission is still to approve a second wave of public prices in the middle of December, relating to sports facilities operated by the Barcelona Institute of Sports (IBE) and to district facilities.
