29/05/2021 - 10:52 h
The revamp to Ronda de Sant Antoni, between the streets of Comte d’Urgell and Casanova, will help consolidate the avenue as a community space which unites the neighbourhoods of El Raval and Sant Antoni. A tactical project, to be agreed on with local people and businesses, the new design will help gain more play areas, recreational space and greenery.
Works gets under way in the first quarter of 2022 and includes:
- Wooden elements to act as steps, benches or seating in the central section of the road, to improve accessibility.
- Areas for sport and community games.
- Spaces to relax in, with tables and benches.
- Open spaces for community activities.
- New trees.
The proposal has been presented to local people and commercial establishments and will be developed further with them before the final project is defined.
The final revamp to Ronda Sant Antoni will be defined in an overall proposal for the main roads in Ciutat Vella, to promote improved public space and sustainable mobility taking into account the specific make-up of the area, with the market and the superblock.
