New fountain with accessible water games in Canyelles

The area of 32 square metres is one of the planned climate shelters to help tackle the climate emergency and the heat. It has been in operation since 1 August and will be dismantled at the end of the summer.

The inner square next to Carrer de Juan Ramón Jiménez, in the Canyelles neighbourhood, was the location chosen for a fountain with accessible water games in the form of a palm tree. The fountain is right next to a children’s play area and started operating on 1 August.

The fountain operates every day from 10 am to 1 pm and from 5 pm to 8 pm. Users have to press a button to make the water jets work in a cycle which lasts between one and two minutes.

The fountain will operate until the end of the summer, when it will be dismantled and stored for use again next year.
