New plan to cut noise in El Parc i la Llacuna del Poblenou
17/07/2023 - 14:38 h
Further progress for the new plan to cut noise around the neighbourhood of El Parc i la Llacuna del Poblenou, now at the stage for challenges and additional input having gained initial approval and being submitted to the public scrutiny period. Notable measures in the project include the regulation of maintenance hours and restrictions on the opening of new music venues, bars, terraces and shops selling alcohol.
The plan to cut noise includes the leisure triangle of El Parc i la Llacuna del Poblenou, the space delimited by the streets of Almogàvers (between the streets of Marina and Àlaba), Pallars (between the streets of Zamora and Àlaba), Pere IV (between the streets of Zamora and Àvila), and Zamora, Pamplona and Àlaba, between the streets of Almogàvers and Pere IV.
The design of the project took into account the conclusions of an in-depth study of noise in this part of the district of Sant Martí. The nine-week study measured noise levels through sound meters at four points in the leisure triangle. All of them recorded noise levels at least 3 decibels in excess of the limit, making it necessary to draft a specific plan to reduce the impact of noise.
The document includes nine specific measures and is expected to be approved in September, once the dozen issues raised by nightlife entities, restaurants and local residents have been resolved.
