Public transport maintains the 50% discount for the T-Usual and T-Jove in 2023

Public transport ticket prices are to remain unchanged for the third year running in an effort to help people cope with the current economic crisis. The Metropolitan Transport Authority has agreed to maintain the 20% discount for the T-Usual and T-Jove [youth card], in addition to the 30% discount from the state, so that these tickets will continue to be sold at half price throughout 2023. Tickets for single-parent families, large families and the unemployed will also have a 50% discount.
With the extension of these discounts, the prices of public transport tickets in 2023 will be as follows:
- Single-journey ticket within one zone: €2.40
- T-Casual within one zone: €11.35
- T-Usual within one zone: €20
- T-Jove: €40. This ticket is now for individuals up to 30 years old.
When will public transport tickets purchased in 2022 expire?
The T-Usual and T-Jove will be valid until 31 December 2023.
T-Casual tickets purchased in 2022 will expire on 15 January 2023. Tickets purchased in 2022 that have not been used can be exchanged until 30 June for tickets of the same type by paying the corresponding price difference.

Return to regular passenger volume
In November 2022, public transport demand was nearly the same as before the Covid-19 pandemic. 88.5 million journeys were made, 4.4% fewer than during November 2019 (92.6 million).
Inter-city buses were the mode of transport where demand has bounced back the most compared to November 2019, followed by the metro and tram.
