07/01/2024 - 10:37 h
Besides changing existing signs, new ones are being added and include models indicating spaces where dogs can be let off their leads, plus different signs for listed trees, children’s play areas, allotments etc. The process means as many as 1,800 new signs, between renewals and new additions, and will improve information for the public while replacing old or damaged elements as part of the Pla Endreça Barcelona.
In all, vertical entrance signs have been changed at 97 parks and gardens in Barcelona. The sites are different green spaces in the city’s ten districts, where 262 entrance signs (information panels) have been replaced.
These are mainly vertical signs, indicating the name of the park, the opening times, a map of the green space, existing services and other information.
The process involves an investment of 700,000 euros and should be completed in January.
Over 1,800 new signs
Besides information panels at the entrances to parks, other signage has been renewed inside these and other green spaces in the city. There are over 1,800 new signs in all:
- 1,029 signs at children’s play areas.
- 55 signs for trees of local interest.
- 22 signs for allotments.
- 93 signs for vegetal waste in parks and gardens.
- 390 signs with pictograms, directional and other indications.
- 228 signs for the new zones to let dogs off their leads.
The renewal of signage in parks, gardens and other green spaces in the city offers improved information on services for the public, replacing old or damaged elements.
The process is part of the Pla Endreça Barcelona, which focuses on the intensive renewal of the different elements in public space as an essential means of achieving their excellence.
